DIRECTIONS:
Travelling north from Eggesford train station on the A377 the entrance to Chawleigh Week Mill Farm is 1.3 miles on the left, just past James’s Week Lane on the right.
The entrance requires a sharp turn which is easy to miss initially, it is easier travel a further 0.4 miles along the main road, turn first right into Leigh Lane, turn around and return down the main road. This means the gravel slip road that will now be on your right.
The entrance slopes slightly downhill, turning sharp right under the railway line, please note the height clearance for the tunnel is 2.4 metres. Approach the tunnel by driving straight and turn right into the tunnel very close to the wall in front. Once you have exited the tunnel turn right to access the car park (signposted Copper Lodge)
Trains
Eggesford Railway Station is a rural station just outside the village, serving Eggesford, Chulmleigh and surrounding villages. The line links Exeter and Barnstaple along the single track ‘Tarka Line’. The train takes approximately 40 minutes from Exeter Station and approximately 25 mins from Eggesford to Barnstaple, please check Great Western Rails website for up to date train times.
