Copper Lodge
Copper Lodge consists of the main lodge which has a double/twin bedroom (the Maple Room) and an en-suite bathroom featuring a stunning Japanese Tub. The main open plan living space includes a fully equipped kitchen with SMEG appliances including an oven, hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee maker, a comfortable lounge which includes two sofa beds, a state-of-the-art log burner for the cold weather and a large flat screen TV.
The lounge area also plays host to the amazing chandelier which was created from the roots of the tree that forms the main structural beam in the cabin.
The Magnolia Lodge is a double/twin room with a spectacular free standing copper bath tub, a large double/twin bed and a tea/coffee area with a small fridge, kettle and coffee maker. It also has a separate bathroom with two showers and two leaf shaped sinks.
The Lodges sit on a large deck, with a wood fired hot tub and day beds to allow you to sit and enjoy the view. Alongside the deck is a BBQ area with seating and a herb garden
Copper Lodge is a uniquely beautiful hand built set of wooden Lodges, situated to the left of the Fisherman's Cottage. It evolved out of an idea in 2021 to build in our lovely secluded area, overlooking the river and the rest of the land. We wanted to create a log cabin like no other, designed to be uniquely quirky but at the same time offer luxury, the Lodges are perfectly self-contained, offering peace and privacy.
Main Lodge - this offers a beautiful living and sleeping space arranged as follows:
As you enter through the double doors you come into the living area. Directly in front of you is the magnificent, hand cut wooden table, made by the same craftsmen who built the Lodges, the table seats six on the feature leaf chairs. Beyond this is a fully equipped kitchen featuring SMEG appliances including a fridge/freezer, oven and hob, dishwasher and coffee maker for your convenience.
To the right of the kitchen is the lounge, whose focal point is a full height tree blown down in Storm Eunice, which forms part of its main structure. The root ball of this same tree is hung overhead, to form a stunning chandelier. Opposite is our state-of-the-art wood burner, which provides a cosy backdrop to the comfy chairs and sofas that form the main seating area (the sofas both convert into beds).
An ornately hand carved wooden door to the left of the living area takes you into the Maple Room, the master bedroom suite with a fully tiled en-suite bathroom offering both a spacious shower and our fabulous free-standing copper Japanese Tub, along with sink and toilet. The bedroom has a walk in wardrobe and dressing area. There is a desk/dressing table next to the double doors which lead out to a seating area on the deck to enjoy your morning coffee. This room can be made up as a double or twin, depending on your preference
Magnolia Lodge - following the decking round brings you to Magnolia Lodge, double doors lead straight into the bedroom with its full height headboard, concealing the wardrobe and dressing area on the left and tea/coffee/fridge area on the right. The standout feature in this room is the stunning free standing copper bath tub, situated to allow a view straight over the meadow and river. Outside the double doors is a small table and chairs so you can enjoy the view with your morning coffee
To the right of the bedroom is a corridor leading, via a pebbled path, to the double bathroom featuring two showers, two bronzed glass leaf sinks, toilet and heated towel rail with a stunning view over the meadow down to the river
Deck & Outside Facilities: The decking offers a wrought iron table and chairs for al fresco dining, daybeds to enjoy the sun, an outside shower, the view and, of course, the wood fired hot tub.
Why not make use of our BBQ area for dinner? You will find a herb garden in a chest next to the BBQ, please feel free to use these with our compliments.
We also offer a walk through the Wild Garlic Garden, to the right of Magnolia Lodge, and a Croquet Lawn at the bottom of the decking stairs by the hot tub - rules and equipment for play are provided! We also have a Welly Wanging pitch laid out...... wanging wellies and rules provided!
Additional Information: Both Lodges have large radiators to heat them in the colder months, as well as heated towel rails in the bathrooms and the Main Lodge has a log fired burner. The buildings retain a lot of natural heat due to the insulating properties of the wood.
The Main Lodge offers accommodation for two adult guests in the Maple Room with sofa beds creating a further two spaces if required, Magnolia Lodge sleeps two adult guests. This configuration allows for privacy for four adult guests
